    Michelle Herman

     

    Michelle, a Tucson native, recently returned to her hometown after spending several decades in Southern California. While in the Los Angeles area, she graduated from California State Polytechnic University, earning a Social Work degree. Throughout her career, Michelle has held various roles, including nonprofit director, social worker, and social entrepreneur, and she is deeply committed to social justice and equality.

     

    For over 20 years, Michelle worked as a community development director in Compton, CA, leading initiatives focused on poverty alleviation, economic development, and leadership development. She also played a key role in introducing soccer programs for social change aimed at increasing diversity in US youth soccer and fostering young urban leaders.

     

    Beyond her professional accomplishments, Michelle is a passionate advocate for women, transgender visibility, awareness, inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ rights. She currently serves on the Board of Transgender Resource Hub, contributing to their important work in this area.
